About Us

The Gathering

Sunday mornings where we gather as a family to be reminded of God's work in our lives and within our community — and to celebrate the grace of Christ at work all around us.

Before You Come

Everything you need to know

We currently meet on Sunday morning at The Dance Foundation in Homewood from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Come as you are — there is no dress code, no visitor badge, and no expectation that you have anything figured out.

What to Expect

Informal reverence

We strive for informal reverence in our time together. We hope it feels like a family gathering — because that is exactly what it is.

You will hear the Bible taught plainly, sing together, and share communion every single week. Nothing is performed for an audience; everything is offered to God.

Communion elements prepared on a table during a Sunday gathering
  • Responsive readings

We read Scripture aloud together — a shared voice, not a solo performance.

  • Silent confession

Space to be honest before God about who we really are, without shame.

  • Weekly communion

We come to the table every week. All who trust in Christ are welcome.

  • Singing together

Simple songs, familiar and new, sung by the whole room — not just a stage.

  • Teaching of Scripture

A steady walk through the Bible, aimed at everyday life — not just Sunday.

Why We Call It That
“We call it the gathering so that we don't have to say we are going to church — since we don't go to church. Each of us in Christ are the church.”

So where is the church, really?

It is at the kitchen counter, the shop, the sidewalk, the ball field, and the apartment window. It is wherever ordinary people carry the presence of Jesus into an ordinary day.

We would love to meet you.

If you are planning to visit, let us know and we will look out for you. If you are simply curious, come as you are — you will not be singled out.
